RN to BSN Competency-Based Degree Program
Oklahoma Christian University and OnSomble have joined forces to deliver an innovative Competency-Based Education (CBE) program to a BSN. The online bachelor’s program is fully accredited and was approved by the Higher Learning Commission. It allows nurses to go from a Nursing Licensure into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Competency-based programs are founded on an approach that allows students to advance based on their ability to master a skill or competency, fully online and at their own pace. This new RN to BSN program is integrated with Oklahoma Christian’s key competencies, while OnRole's algorithms allow the curriculum to be customized to each student’s individual needs, prescribing areas for improvement through deeper study. CBE programs create efficiencies in teaching by augmenting online learning with on-demand guidance from faculty mentors. Adaptive learning allows teachers to use data to identify the areas that students need the most support and in turn students can reach out to instructors when they require hands-on learning. The OnRole platform fosters total engagement with the curriculum and with faculty, who can help the students to synthesize knowledge with application.
